22Bet on iPhone: App Store or mobile site

Anyone who wants to use 22Bet on an iPhone runs into two statements that contradict each other: one source describes a native app in the Apple App Store, while a search of the German App Store returns no match. First: an APK file cannot be installed on iOS.

Is 22Bet in the German App Store? Two sources, two answers

According to goal.com, in the Indian edition of the portal, 22Bet offers a native app in the Apple App Store. goal.com describes the installation in two steps: search the App Store for “22bet” and tap “Get”.

The iTunes Search API, which we queried on 08.10.2026 for the Germany and USA storefronts, shows no entry named 22bet. No manual check via a direct App Store link has been made. Both statements therefore stand side by side, and neither is confirmed for Germany.

Apple's App Store guidelines state that real-money apps for sports betting, poker and casino games need the necessary licences in every location where they are used and must be geo-restricted to those locations. The GGL whitelist does not list 22Bet (as of 02.10.2026), and the operator TechSolutions Group N.V. does not appear there either. The sources describe the licences differently: according to casino.guru Curaçao (OGL/2024/590/0758), Kahnawake and Estonia, according to AskGamblers Curaçao, Kahnawake, Nigeria, Mozambique and Kenya.

Apple also requires apps in highly regulated fields such as gambling to be submitted by the legal entity that provides the service, not by individual developers. If an app named 22Bet shows up in the store search, it is worth checking the developer name under the app title: the operating company should be listed there, which, according to casino.guru and LCB, is TechSolutions Group N.V. Another store rule applies to payments: apps may not use in-app purchases to buy credit or currency for real-money games. Deposits therefore do not go through your Apple account but through the operator's own payment methods. According to LCB, the minimum deposit at 22Bet is €1 and the minimum withdrawal €1.50; for the bonus, LCB gives a minimum deposit of €10. Mobile site in Safari

Regardless of the store listing, the 22Bet website is in operation according to LCB and casino.guru and can be opened in the iPhone browser. casino.guru, LCB and AskGamblers all list a German-language version. According to de.casino.guru (as of 05.10.2026), 22Bet accepts players from Germany. The country list in the operator's terms: no information.

The mobile site needs no installation and no storage space for an app. goal.com mentions one difference from the app: according to this source, push notifications are only available in the app, not on the mobile site.

iOS itself offers a way to launch a website like an app. In Safari, tap “Share” and then “Add to Home Screen”; if the option is missing from the list, “Edit Actions” helps. When adding, you can turn on “Open as Web App”. The icon then opens the website like a separate app, and according to Apple Support such a web app can also send notifications. Whether the 22Bet site is set up for this and whether notifications arrive this way is not documented for this brand.

The icon only appears on the device where you added it; on an iPad or a second iPhone you have to add it again. Apple has supported the technology behind it since 2018 but does not use the term PWA publicly. An icon on the home screen is not an App Store installation.

iOS version

goal.com gives iOS 12.0 or later as the minimum version. For Android the same source states version 6.0 or later. goal.com also lists a processor of at least 1.2 GHz without naming a platform. There is no second source for these values.

None of the sources gives a version number for the iOS app: no information. A size clearly assigned to the iOS build is missing as well. The 156 MB at goal.com come without a platform, while the 55.36 MB from the same source refer to the Android APK. Details specific to the iPad, such as screen formats or a dedicated tablet layout, are not available either. No source gives a minimum version for the mobile site in Safari.

Why the APK does not run on the iPhone

An APK is Android's installation format; iOS can neither open nor install it. iPhone apps use the IPA format and usually come from the App Store. The Android route, with the download from the official site and permission for “Unknown sources”, is described on the page about the 22Bet APK for Android, including file size and system requirements.

In forums such as gutefrage.net, users keep asking how to get an APK onto an iPhone. The replies there agree that APK files are meant for Android; the workarounds mentioned for bypassing the App Store do not get an APK onto the iPhone. In the EU, Apple now also allows other distribution channels. iPhone users in Germany can use alternative app marketplaces and download apps directly from a developer's website, provided their Apple Account region is in the EU and they are located there. For direct distribution via a website, however, the developer needs authorisation from Apple, and the app goes through Apple's notarisation. This does not make an APK download possible, and no such distribution is documented for 22Bet.
